Week 10

This is it!!!

With less than a week until the Tidworth 10K both Geoff and Tim have now completed the event distance in training, a few niggles for both of them but overall they appear to be in reasonable shape for Sunday.

Good Luck Guys, visit their Twitter pages for further updates.

Week 7 training - not going to plan

I'm forced to rest up this week due to my right knee giving me problems.

Running is painful and recovery is worse.

Updates to follow..

Week 7 training

5k run in under half hour tonight with no intervals but I'm suffering with a knee problem (other knee this time) and having walking issues.. hot gel pack and elevation required..

On the plus side, hit my sponsorship target today.

Week 7 training

Week 7 starts today, should be able to make 5k plus which would be a great way to start the week.

Not long to go before the big race so stepping up with the training schedule is important for conditioning of the legs.

Body feels a little stiff this morning but expected after football yesterday. I'm technically injury free and looking forward to running later.

Training Week 3 Day 2 Pt 2

Both Geoff and Tim had a decent run this evening covering just over 4k, well on target for week 3, Geoff was protecting his thigh strain and Tim was trying to find a comfortable pace.

Overall a successful run, now for a rest day in preparation for the same again on Friday.

The guys are getting used to off road running but will need to start looking at some inclined running in the next few weeks in order to tackle to The  Tidworth 10K course, perhaps this will do the trick?

Week 3 day 2

Had football training last night, made the mistake of not warming up properly and paying the price.
Still going to run this evening but will have to have a good stretch and slow the pace down.
Not happy but my own fault..

Week 3 training.. so far

Week 3 started yesterday with a different circuit and longer running.. managed to do this with only tightness in the calves at the end. Managed to get my breathing in check and found myself doing the session without being out of breath. Recovery times are getting quicker, I feel fine this morning and ready for football training later. Fitness is coming, slowly but surely and I'm very happy with how it is going so far.

Wednesday 7th September

Training finished for today, with no football yesterday it was important for me to push hard and burn some calories.. think I have done that.. home for dinner, shower and the cinema for a well deserved rest ready for Friday's session.. upping the ante from here on.

Small Steps

Really enjoyed the training session tonight, my legs felt pretty good all the way through and continue to feel strong as I write this. All in all that sounds pretty positive but I am concerned by my breathing, this, although improved, is still causing me both frustration and concern, I can only hope that it improves with time and additional training.

Tim

Monday 5th September

Football yesterday, injury free and a couple of goals scored.. run as much as I could and I'm feeling it now with a few muscle aches.. have been lifting some weights this morning and have week 2 of our Training schedule to start this evening.. all in all, I feel good, I feel progress is being made and I feel motivated to continue.

An Average Effort

I went for a run tonight and encountered some hills, well 1 to be precise, wow... that hurt!! My lungs were burning and I struggled to intake the capacity of air needed, my legs buckled under me and I had to walk at least 50% of the damn hill.

Here is my route and statistics  for analysis, I will try this route again in a couple of days and see if I can improve.

Both Geoff and I are running for the Stars Appeal, click Here for more information.

Football training

Finished for the evening with a sore hamstring, not good at all.

Ice required after a hot bath, problem is I'm seizing up now I have stopped.
